Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 statutory guidance: local eligibility criteria

Guidance to support local authorities in setting local eligibility criteria and proposes that all local authorities use the same suite of indicators but have local discretion in establishing the threshold for support.

Statutory guidance has been published to aid understanding and implementation of the provisions of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016. The guidance is structured into chapters on the different parts of the Act as well as those addressing cross-cutting considerations (e.g. the context of integration of health and social care).

The guidance has been developed with input from a wide range of stakeholders and interested parties to capture what is important and useful and incorporates lessons from the pilot areas which tested certain provisions within the Act.
