This is summary guidance is for healthcare professionals providing care to people who present to a health service following a rape or sexual assault. This is intended for professionals who would not carry out a forensic medical examination but where people may present following an assault including:
- Emergency Departments
- dentist
- community pharmacy
- Scottish Ambulance Service
- GP
- NHS 24
It has been developed through the CMO Taskforce Clinical Pathways Subgroup in partnership with wider health professionals.
