- A Companion of Honour for Doctor Richard Henderson for services to electron microscopy of biological molecules
A Knighthood for:
- Professor James Hough OBE for services to the detection of gravitational waves
- Kenny Dalglish MBE for services to football, charity and the City of Liverpool
Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) include:
- Professor Lorna Dawson for services to soil and forensic science
- Alexander (Sandy) Begbie for services to business and social inclusion
- Professor James Murdoch for services to education and human rights
Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) include:
- David Climie for services to engineering
- Professor Foo Yew (Eddy) Liew for services to science and medicine, particularly in Scotland and Hong Kong
- Norman Lannigan for services to pharmaceutical care and medicines management
- Sally McMath for services to Girlguiding and the community in West Lothian
- Lucinda Russell for services to horse racing
- Peter Scott for services to people with disabilities
Among those to be made Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) are:
- Alastair (Ally) Boyle for services to charity, particularly the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Anthony Nolan Partnership
- Jonathan Burton for services to healthcare
- William Deans for services to maritime safety
- David Gourlay for services to bowls
- Lynne Kennedy for services to the promotion of women in business
- Kirsty Letton for services to curling
- Archibald Macmillan for services to the Scottish seafood industry
- Christine Primrose for services to Gaelic music, culture and education in Scotland and internationally
Among those to become a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) are:
- Archie Baird for services to the history of golf
- Brian Budge for service to military history in Orkney
- Professor Josephine Haythornthwaite for services to asylum seekers in Glasgow
