Scottish National Investment Bank Programme Board

Overview

This group was formed to establish the Scottish National Investment Bank. The bank was established and launched in November 2020. This group is no longer active.

The objectives and responsibility of the Board are to:

  • oversee the programme to set up the Scottish National Investment Bank as a new public body, including the alignment of relationships with other bodies and parts of the Scottish Government involved in financing activities
  • ensure that programme governance is in place and that there are clear lines of accountability both within the programme team and with other parts of the Scottish Government
  • ensure that the role and purpose of the Bank will align with the wider priorities, strategies of Scottish Ministers and that its plans and execution are both affordable and value-for-money – recommending action to be taken if this is at risk
  • ensure that the programme has sufficient and timely resources – people and money – so that it can deliver the Bank by early 2020
