Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) Improvement: Stakeholder Reference Group

Overview

The Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) Improvement Stakeholder Reference Group was set up in July 2025. It brings together listed authorities, their equality networks and equality advocacy groups from across Scotland to work with the Scottish Government on improving how the PSED is carried out.

Between July and December 2025, the group helped develop proposals to improve leadership, capability and capacity in the public sector over a four-year period, with a focus on sharing good practice.

These proposals were published in our better performance proposals 2025 to 2029 in December 2025. From January 2026, the group is supporting the delivery of these proposals.
