Land Agriculture and Nature Delivery (LAND) Group

Overview

The group was set up in October 2026. It brings together people with an interest in agriculture, forestry, peatland, biodiversity, wildlife and species management, and water. The group provides advice and insight on land use in Scotland.

Scotland's land is limited, but we're asking more of it every year. We need it to help tackle climate change, nature loss and food security, and to maintain ecosystem services. The group provides a space to discuss these issues, to help make sure land is used in a way that supports the Scottish Government's wider goals.

The Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Rural Affairs chairs the group, which meets 3 times a year. We publish minutes of each meeting.
