Christine McLaughlin

Christine McLaughlin was appointed as Co-Director of Population Health in June 2022.

Responsibilities

  • providing evidence-based advice to ministers on health protection, testing legacy, Covid Ready Society and future threats surveillance

  • leading on health and social care reform and Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the care and wellbeing portfolio to improve population health and reduce health inequalities

Biography

Previous roles include:

  • Director of Planning
  • Director of Finance for NHS Louisa Jordan
  • Director of Health Finance, Corporate Governance and Value 

Prior to joining the Scottish Government, Christine held several senior finance roles in NHS Scotland and management consulting roles with PwC, KPMG and Atos, working with public sector clients. Christine is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and previous chair of the CIPFA Scottish Branch. 

Christine is also a charity trustee with Carnegie UK and the Corra Foundation.
