The DTS was established in August 2015 and has been working with some of the biggest and smallest organisations across the Central Government sector since, working alongside organisations to deliver digital programmes and seeking to build digital skills within organisations wherever possible.
The Digital Transformation Service enables the Central Government sector to formulate and deliver programmes of work to transform public services from a user perspective and realise the benefits of the application of digital technology. They support organisations in the following three areas:
Strategy Development & Review: Developing digital strategies, or reviewing existing digital strategies, in conjunction with organisations. A key output from this is an understanding of where organisations are in relation to a digital maturity model, and a roadmap for delivery.
Business Case Development: Developing digital business cases – often as an outcome of developing a digital strategy.
- Recruitment & Talent: Supporting organisations in recruiting and growing digital talent. A digital graduate programme, digital modern apprentices and an agile awareness course are all being developed as part of this offering.
DTS champions the core principles of re-use and collaboration - both in technology and skills - enabling the CG sector to be an employer of choice for digital roles and skills development in Scotland.
The diagram below summarises the services provided by DTS and also gives a list of the specialist areas within the Scottish Government, and the external partners your organisation can access through the DTS to support your digital transformation.
