Mixed production results across Scotland

While cereal production decreased overall, results were mixed across the country.

North Eastern Scotland and Highlands and Islands saw an overall increase in production compared to 2022 (4% and 6% respectively). This was mostly the result of small increases in crop areas.

The rest of Scotland mostly saw a decrease in production compared to last year despite small increases in grown areas. In Eastern Scotland production decreased 6%. A 7% decrease was seen for Southern Scotland. Only around 1% of cereals are grown in West Central Scotland so while this area also experienced a decrease the changes may not be significant.

The regions reported are the International Territorial Level 2 regions of Scotland.
