Open Data Strategy
The Data Management Board has commissioned a short term open data working group to develop an Open Data Strategy for Scotland by December 2014. The working group includes representation from across the public sector. The Strategy will help to create awareness of Open Data and demonstrate the opportunities and benefits it offers.
Open Data is non-personal data, which is accessible to anyone, via the internet, free of restriction on use and, according to most usages of the term, in a machine readable form (machine readable covers a wide spectrum of technologies from csv files to xml or rdf).
Discussion papers from the working group are available here.
The Strategy has been developed and shared with the Data Management Board. It was published in February 2015.
