Progressing the human rights of children in Scotland: report 2018 to 2021

This report discusses actions taken to support and promote the rights of children in Scotland in line with Part 1 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 Act from 2018 until 2021.

3. The Progressing the Human Rights of Children in Scotland: An Action Plan 2018-2021, published in December 2018, contained the following action: "We will incorporate the principles of the UNCRC into Scots law". Following public consultation on the model of incorporation that will deliver the best outcomes for children and young people in Scotland, this action was amended to: "We will incorporate the UNCRC into Scots law" in the Progressing the Human Rights of Children in Scotland: An Action Plan 2018-2021 - Progress Report 2019 .

4. The Children and Young People's Interim Consortium was established in September 2021 to support the meaningful and inclusive participation of children and young people in the UNCRC Strategic Implementation Board and wider implementation programme. It is made up of 6 organisations and is being co-ordinated by Together (Scottish Alliance for Children's Rights).

16. The Coalition was set-up and launched by the Rock Trust in 2017 and is funded by the Scottish Government. It brings together organisations and professionals from across Scotland working in the fields of housing, homelessness, education, youth work, families, health and justice to create and implement plans to address youth homelessness in their localities.
