Cereal and oilseed rape harvest - first estimates: 2023
Initial estimates of area, yield and production for winter and spring barley, wheat, oats and oilseed rape, for the 2023 harvest.

Decrease in oat area and production expected
In 2023 oats yield is predicted to be 6.2 tonnes per hectare. Oats production is predicted to be around 150 thousand tonnes.
Whilst oats yield is slightly down from the 2022 value of 6.3 tonnes per hectare, a predicted 9% decrease for oats area is the main driver for the decrease in production.
