What is Local People Leading?
Local People Leading is an informal alliance of national and regional networks, local community groups and individuals, that has come together to campaign for a strong and independent community sector in Scotland.
Local People Leading has two main functions: promoting the work of local people in their communities; and influencing national policy development.
What is the Knowledge and Skills Exchange Programme?
The Scottish Government is providing support to Local People Leading for a Knowledge and Skills Exchange Programme to promote and stimulate learning and exchange of expertise across the sector. Local People Leading will work with Development Trust Association Scotland (DTAS) to help a wide range of community groups to share experience and practice through visits to other relevant organisations and projects across Scotland.
Who can apply for the programme?
Community groups affiliated to those networks currently involved with Local People Leading will have access to Knowledge and Skills Exchange Programme. For more information on which networks are eligible check Local People Leading's website. You will also find invaluable information on what's happening in the community sector across Scotland, as well as signposting you to a range of forums to enable you to get your voice heard.
