Energy Performance Certificates: guide

Guidance on the use of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) which provide information about how energy efficient a building is, and how the efficiency could be improved.

If you have any concerns about the way your EPC has been produced, you should first contact the EPC assessor. The assessor’s contact details will be on the Recommendation Report which accompanies the EPC. This also lists the relevant Approved Organisation.

If the issue is not resolved by your assessor, contact the assessor’s Approved Organisation scheme manager who will investigate further. Each Approved Organisation has a complaints procedure, code of conduct and disciplinary process in place. See a list of approved EPC assessors and their contact details.
