The Victim-Centred Approach Fund (VCAF) is a new Scottish Government (SG) funding programme which will enable organisations to provide practical and emotional support to victims, survivors and witnesses of crime across Scotland.
The VCAF is open to applications from third sector organisations, community interest companies and public bodies who provide support to victims, to help achieve the vision, priorities and outcomes set out in this guidance document. Funding is available for up to three years for work delivered from April 2022 through to March 2025.
The VCAF delivers a key Programme for Government commitment to launch a new funding programme to support victims and is part of the SG’s overall approach to put victims’ rights at the heart of justice and improve the advice, information and support that is available to them.
The VCAF replaces previously separate SG funding programmes which provided grants to victim’s organisations, human trafficking support organisations and groups providing criminal justice advocacy for survivors of gender based violence. The VCAF aims to take a more strategic and joined-up approach to continuing to fund these services by:
- providing more organisations with the opportunity to apply for funding
- transitioning to a more outcome-focussed approach
- encouraging collaborative working between organisations to deliver joined-up services for victims
- encouraging the development of new projects and approaches
The VCAF is open for applications from w/c 18 October 2021 until 20 December 2021.
