Summary of the findings from phase one of the testing of Scotland's proposed national Domestic Homicide and Suicide Review Model and Scottish Government response to the findings commissioned by the Scottish Government.

6. Next steps

The report will be shared with the Domestic Homicide and Suicide Review Taskforce and other relevant stakeholders. The report represents one source of information to inform further developments of the DHSR model. The report will be published as part of the evidence base approach being taken by the Scottish Government in the development of the DHSR model for Scotland.

It is important to acknowledge the limitations of this workshop in providing an overview, because of the limited information available about the proposed approach to undertaking DHSRs in Scotland. This workshop represents stage one of a three stage process, led by the Scottish Government in collaboration with AAFDA and other experts, aimed at supporting the development of a robust delivery model for DHSRs and within which, stages two and three will incorporate:

  • a more detailed review of different aspects of the model with expert input; and
  • a test of the DHSR model process.
