Accessing healthcare, doctor (GP) and dental services
Everyone in Scotland is eligible to register with a GP practice and NHS dental charges have been waived for people displaced from Ukraine. NHS-funded eye examinations are free and there is help with the costs of glasses and contact lenses. There is no need to register with a community pharmacy in order to access services including NHS Pharmacy First Scotland which provides free access for advice, treatment or referral to another healthcare professional for common clinical conditions.
The Scottish Government has produced a leaflet in Ukrainian and Russian which explains how people access health care, including how to register with a GP practice, receive dental care, get eye examinations and have medications dispensed.
It is available at NHS Inform and will also be shared as part of welcoming people displaced from Ukraine to Scotland.
