This Framework provides the principles of what cohesive and effective support for children and young people experiencing a mental health crisis should look like across Scotland.

8 Equality - Means ensuring that everyone has the same rights, opportunities, and access to resources, often aiming to create a level playing field where individuals are not treated less favourably because of their background or protected characteristics. It is about treating people with dignity and respect, aiming for equal outcomes.

9 Equity - Refers to fairness and impartiality, focusing on ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to achieve the same, or similar, outcomes. It acknowledges that people have different, unique circumstances and, therefore, allocates the specific, tailored resources and support needed to overcome barriers.
