Social care - Independent Review Panel: terms of reference

Remit

The Panel will:

• support the Chair and Vice Chair in determining what is needed from the regulation, scrutiny and inspection of social care support services, both now and in the future, to achieve the best outcomes for the people of Scotland
• facilitate communication and sharing of ideas, skills and knowledge between related areas of work, lived experience and support the gathering of further information
• provide insight on the current system and opportunities for change
• explore solutions to risks identified so they can be mitigated or eliminated
• consider and advise on evidence-based options and in putting forward recommendations to the Chair and Vice Chair
• contribute to the drafting of the final report
• report directly to the Chair and Vice Chair and provide regular updates as requested
