Scottish Welfare Fund Statistics: update to 31 March 2025
The annual update of Scottish Welfare Fund Statistics for 2024-25. This includes annual statistics on Community Care Grants and Crisis grants from 2013, as well as quarterly breakdowns from 2020.

Over the lifetime of the scheme, most funds have been directed to Community Care Grants in almost every quarter, although, even before the Covid pandemic, there was a general increase in the proportion of money spent on Crisis Grants (Chart 14).
As well as the regular peaks in or around January each year, it has been seen that Crisis Grant awards increased during periods of high Covid infections, most notably in the early part of the pandemic where more than two-thirds of SWF expenditure was to Crisis Grants.
