Scottish seabird conservation action plan: equality impact assessment

Equality Impact Assessment for the Scottish Seabird Conservation Action Plan.

Executive summary

This Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) has been undertaken to identify impacts on equality groups brought about by the introduction of the Scottish Seabird Conservation Action Plan. The plan exists with the aim of addressing the pressures currently facing Scotland’s seabird populations.

The development of the action plan which included consultation, stakeholder engagement and a working group did not raise equality issues or concerns. The plan includes both existing and potential future actions to be taken to achieve the Scottish Government's vision for thriving seabird populations. No new policy is being implemented at this stage. It is recommended that as actions are developed and introduced, they are continually monitored and assessed for potential impacts on specific groups and individuals with protected characteristics.
