Scottish Crown Estate: revenue allocations 2020 to 2021

Scottish Ministers agreed that annual allocations should be distributed to local areas in arrears following the finalisation of the annual accounts for the Scottish Crown Estate.

The allocation for 2020-2021 relates to the net revenue generated in 2018-2019. This is the second tranche of payments under the arrangements to ensure that coastal communities benefit from the net revenue generated by the Scottish Crown Estate marine assets out to 12 nautical miles following the devolution of the management of assets.

It is anticipated that the allocations will be paid by the end of July 2020.

Note: The Settlement and Distribution Group agreed the principle that all eligible local authorities should receive a de minimis allocation of no less than £1,000 under the interim formula-based mechanism.  All eligible local authorities should receive at least £1,000, with the other allocations reduced pro rata (once every local authority has had £1,000 allocated).
