Restitution Fund: guidance
The power to make a restitution order came into force on 10 February 2021. These orders are a financial penalty available to courts to those convicted of assault on police, under section 90 of the Police and Fire Reform Act 2012. The funding received will provide support services for victims.
6. Reporting
6.1 The Scottish Government will prepare and publish an annual report on the administration of the Fund by 31 July each year, with the first report being published by 31 July 2026.
6.2 The report must contain the information on the record-keeping outlined above for the period of twelve months prior to 31 March each year. For the first year, this will be from 24 June 2025 up to and including 31 March 2026.
