A survey questionnaire was developed by Scottish Government analysts to gather updated figures for residential rehabilitation bed capacity in Scotland.
Survey questions related to the analysis presented in this report were:
1. Does your service align with this definition of residential rehabilitation: “offering programmes which aim to support individuals to attain an alcohol or drug-free lifestyle and be re-integrated into society, and which provide intensive psychosocial support and a structured programme of daily activities which residents are required to attend over a fixed period of time”?

3. What is the maximum capacity of residential beds at your facility for substance use rehabilitation? Bed capacity is defined as the maximum number of available placements, at any one time, for individuals to receive residential rehabilitation treatment. This does not include emergency beds or any capacity set aside solely for other treatment offered on site (e.g. detoxification only)
4. Please provide details about the intended duration of your residential rehabilitation programme(s), if applicable. We recognise that individual clients may stay for shorter or longer periods than the intended duration.

8. Does your facility currently accept either partially or fully publicly funded residential rehabilitation placements? A publicly funded residential rehabilitation placement is funded, in full or part, by a public source. This includes funding from a health board, an Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP), local authority, Prison to Rehab funding, other Scottish Government funding, housing benefit (including through the Dual Housing Support Fund), a public sector employer, or a third sector organisation funded by a public body. This includes placements funded by third sector residential rehabilitation centres themselves. Publicly funded placements may include an element of private funding.
