  • action one: ONS to be asked if it is permissible to share the definition of functional anonymisation with the IG Group - CD

Welcome and introductions

Discussion on action four from the last meeting 

  • Pathway 2 discussed – providing a third data access approval route for functionally anonymised data
  • definition of functionally anonymised data needed for data controllers and public 

Action point one: Definition of functional anonymisation to be shared with IG Group

Action point two: Obtain clarifications from the ICO on the functional anonymisation and what categories of data this approach would cover

Action point three: Definition of  functional anonymisation to be presented to ADR public panel

  • concerns raised that pathway 2 may create a complex operational solution via approvals and escalation proposals
  • agreed proposal should be further explored to determine practical suitability

Next steps

Action point four: identification of people and resources to form a project team which will take forward development work associated to RDS IG proposed Pathway 2, including further scoping

Action point five: submit further comments on the RDS IG Pathway 2 paper (previously circulated) by noon on Friday 11th December  

Action point six: put a summary of the RDS IG Pathways 1 and 2 proposal with a broad thrust of today’s discussion to the RDS Transition Board meeting on 16 December
