Information requested

  1. Any reports, briefings, or notes submitted to the deputy first minister on GFG Alliance/Lochaber since March 1, 2022 to date.
  2. Specifically, any note setting out the justification for the public interest aspect of the government's approach to GFG Alliance/Lochaber.

The public interest in the Lochaber guarantee lies in the promotion of sustainable economic development that safeguards and develops employment. The Scottish Government’s guarantee has helped to secure the future of aluminium and renewable energy production in Lochaber and supported many high-skilled jobs.
