Human Rights Bill for Scotland: discussion paper - easy read

An easy read version of the discussion paper that outlines the Scottish Government’s current thinking on a potential new Human Rights Bill for Scotland.

What the Scottish Government wants to do

We want to want to make Scotland’s human rights even stronger.

We want rights to be respected and protected.

We want everyone in Scotland to know how to get their rights – including the human rights that are shared by people around the world.

We want to put human rights that are shared around the world into Scots law.

We want to make sure that human rights can be enjoyed by everyone.

We want to make a clear set of rules and guidance for public organisations – like local councils and the health service.

We want to have the right fixes for when things go wrong with people’s human rights.

We want to keep making Scotland a place where human rights are important.
