This business and regulatory impact assessment (BRIA) examines the potential costs, benefits and impacts of proposed changes to statutory charges for vehicle recovery, storage and disposal in Scotland.
6. Section 5: Scottish Government Compliance with UK regulatory alignment and EU Standards
6.1 Alignment of proposals with the Internal Market Act and Intra-UK Trade
The fees are standardised across the sector with variation only around the category of each uplift i.e. size and nature of the vehicle in question.
6.2 Alignment of proposals with EU on standards and access to (trading) markets
The services provided are specific to Scotland. Vehicle recovery operators are free to offer services or not, as they see fit. This review is simply around the fees they receive for doing so.
