today announced the appointment of Suzanne Hamilton as a Whistleblowing Member of the Dumfries and Galloway Health Board.

Member

Suzanne Hamilton has worked for the NHS in England for more than 30 years in various roles including clinical roles (podiatrist), team leader, service and general manager. Most recently she has been a senior leader in HR and Organisation Development working within provider and commissioning organisations and across the health and care system in the North East and North Cumbria. Suzanne’s passion is learning, and she brings a wealth of experience in service improvement, leadership development and culture change. Suzanne has two grown up children and enjoys living in the countryside, gardening, cooking for family and friends and has recently taken up drawing as a new hobby.

Appointment

This appointment will be for 4 years and will run from 4 January 2024 until 3 January 2028.

This appointment is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.

Remuneration

This appointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £9,030 for a time commitment of 52 days per Year.

Suzanne Hamilton does not hold any other public appointments.

Political activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.   

Suzanne Hamilton has had no political activity within the last five years.

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is responsible for meeting the health needs of the 150,000 people living in the region, and works with partner organisations to provide a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services tailored for the whole population.
