Public appointment: Member reappointed to Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board

The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Neil Gray MSP today announced the reappointment of Marc Mazzucco as a Member of the Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board.

Member

Marc Mazzucco is a former partner at RSM and has extensive experience in audit and consulting services in the public services. His background includes many years completing both internal and external audits at Scottish health boards. He was also Scottish Regional lead partner for PwC Public services consulting services in Scotland where he focussed on Transformation within the public sector. He was instrumental in Glasgow’s winning bid for 2014 Commonwealth Games and has undertaken many budget roles in other major sports events across the world. Marc has been a non-executive director at NHS Ayrshire and Arran since November 2021 and a Trustee at Turning Point Scotland for over 4 years. He currently also lectures in financial management at Glasgow Caledonian University. 

Reappointment

This reappointment will be for 1 year and will run from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026.

This reappointment is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.

Remuneration

This reappointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £14,352 for a time commitment of 52 days per year.

Political activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.   

Marc Mazzucco has had no political activity within the last five years.

Background

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 400,000 people living in the area, and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the population
