Progression of R100: FOI release

Information requested

1. How many premises have so far been connected through the R100 broadband scheme broken down by north, south and central lot please?

2. For the north lot, could this be broken down by constituency please? Please could this also be done for voucher uptake?

3. Please could you tell me the estimated number of properties which are still left to be connected?

1. The below table shows the number of premises connected in each of the three regional lots (Lot 1 North, Lot 2 Central, and Lot 3 South).

Figures show premises connected via R100 contract build and R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (R100 SBVS).

Please note that R100 contract build figures are accurate as at 31/10/2023 and R100 SBVS figures as at 01/11/2023.

As at 31/10/2023, an additional 8,653 premises have been connected by the R100 contracts build partner, Openreach, while they have been in areas delivering the R100 contracts. This is known as “contractual overspill” and is not funded as part of the R100 contracts.

2. The below table shows the number of premises connected via R100 contract build and R100 SBVS for the Lot 1 North, broken down by Scottish Parliament constituency.

Please note that R100 contract build figures are accurate as at 31/10/2023 and R100 SBVS figures as at 01/11/2023.

3. The below table shows the number of premises contracted for delivery in each of the three regional lots (Lot 1 North, Lot 2 Central, and Lot 3 South). Please note these figures relate to the number of premises contracted for connection via R100 contract build only. Figures for R100 SBVS cannot be provided because, as it is a demand-led scheme, the Scottish Government does not hold data on the number of premises that will secure a future connection over the lifetime of the R100 SBVS.
