Privacy notice form to be used by landlords to ensure compliance with current data protection (GDPR) regulations.

This privacy notice (model template attached below) is for use by landlords to ensure compliance with obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation and to notify their tenant(s) information about their rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 [GDPR] and the Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended) [the Data Protection Legislation] and how to action these rights.

It should be used in all instances to advise tenants that the personal data contained in the Private Residential Tenancy Agreement may be used for the purpose of administering and managing the tenancy. This can include sharing the information provided to the local authority the property is located in, one of the 3 Scottish Government approved tenancy deposit schemes and any agent that helps with HMO compliance.
