Online Safety Taskforce Action Plan 2026/27
The Online Safety Taskforce Action Plan brings together our priorities for protecting children and young people from online harm.
Providing holistic recovery support for children and young people
Providing holistic recovery support for children and young people impacted by online harm, providing timely and trauma-informed support that ensures wellbeing.
The Scottish Government wants children and young people to be protected, safe, and supported in the online world and for them to be able to enjoy the internet, be resilient, and take advantage of the opportunities it has to offer. We are taking action to provide trauma-informed recovery support for children and young people impacted by online harm.
Actions
- We are committed to supporting Bairns’ Hoose partnerships as we believe that appropriate trauma-informed services and support should be available to all children who have been victims or witnesses of abuse or violence. We will therefore consider the rise in online harm and the impact that it has on children in our delivery of Bairns’ Hoose.
- The National Bairns’ Hoose Guidance will be published in 2027. During its development, we will include a specific focus on how children referred into a Bairns’ Hoose are supported where they have been the victim of online harm.
