National Transitions to Adulthood Strategy for young disabled people: equality impact assessment


Scope

The scope of this Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) is to evaluate how the Strategy affects individuals across all protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 – with particular focus on age and disability. The EQIA also considered wider socio-economic factors and intersectionality assess whether the Strategy promotes equality, eliminates discrimination, and supports inclusive, person-centred transitions into adulthood.

The assessment was guided by the three needs of the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED): eliminating discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advancing equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not; and fostering good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
