National Transitions to Adulthood Strategy for young disabled people: equality impact assessment
Recommendations and Conclusion
The Equality Impact Assessment has identified both positive opportunities and potential risks in the implementation of the Strategy. To ensure the Strategy meets the needs of all young disabled people and complies with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), the following actions are recommended
Recommended Actions:
1. A progress report will be published by the end of 2026, with further updates aligned to the Strategy’s implementation milestones. It is suggested that this includes monitoring impacts to identify and mitigate any unintended consequences, particularly for groups facing intersectional disadvantage.
2. Improved Data Collection and Audit: A national data audit will be undertaken to identify gaps in disaggregated data. This will inform future data collection improvements and support consistent monitoring across Scotland.
