National Suicide Prevention Advisory Group: annual report 2024-2025
National Suicide Prevention Advisory Group's (NSPAG) annual report for the period from 2024 to 2025.
2. NSPAG’s purpose
- To offer an independent and impartial view to those developing and delivering the National Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan.
- To provide advice as and when needed and in response to emerging strategic issues and to offer challenge as a critical friend bringing into play our collective expertise and experience from our own spheres of practice.
- To offer a view that takes into account our knowledge of diverse areas of Scottish society and work.
- To be willing to champion the cause of suicide prevention in our own spheres of influence to both raise the profile and to embed best practice in suicide prevention wherever possible.
- We also recognise that any public health issue will not be solved by siloed working and will need both a long-term view and a cross disciplinary approach. As a multi-disciplinary group this is something we also bring.
