National Care Service: Independent advocacy co-design report - easy read

This easy read report sets out findings we have gathered through research and co-design that relate to independent advocacy.

How we will use this

The NCS Charter of Rights has been written by the Scottish Government.

The Charter will tell people about how independent advocacy can help them.

The Charter will tell people what their rights are when accessing social care, social work and community health support.

The Charter will tell people how to make a complaint if their rights are not met.

The Charter will also tell people what they can expect from their support.

We are working with organisations that provide independent advocacy services to see how they can improve the help they give to people.

We are giving more money to fund independent advocacy services so more people can get the help they need.

We will make independent advocacy providers follow certain guidelines so people can feel confident using their services.

We are trying to find ways of giving people more choice in the types of advocacy support they receive.
