What we learned
We heard lots of different thoughts, ideas and stories during this work.
Here are the main things people talked about:
- Not everyone in the social care system gets the same access to independent advocacy support.
- Information about what independent advocacy is and how to get help should be easier to find and understand.
- People should be able to choose the type of independent advocacy support that is right for them.
- People want independent advocacy support whenever they need it and for as long as needed.
- Independent advocacy should be based on trust and strong relationships between the advocate and the person they support.
