Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) Summary
Title of policy: MyCare.scot Equality Impact Assessment Summary
Summary of aims and desired outcomes of Policy: MyCare.scot is Scotland’s national digital front door to health and social care services, designed to provide people with a single, secure and accessible point of access to trusted information and digital services. Delivered jointly by the Scottish Government and COSLA, the service supports wider ambitions to modernise and reform health and social care through more joined-up, preventive and persona centred approaches.
The policy aims to improve equitable access to health and social care services across Scotland by reducing barriers associated with geography, travel, administration and fragmented digital systems, while ensuring that non-digital routes remain available for those who need or prefer them. MyCare.scot is intended to support greater convenience, choice, inclusion and consistency for citizens accessing services and information.
The desired outcomes are to advance equality of opportunity through inclusive and accessible digital design, improve people’s ability to engage with health and social care services, support earlier intervention and preventative care, and ensure that digital transformation in health and social care is delivered in a fair, safe and person-centred way for all communities across Scotland.
