GDP Monthly Estimate: May 2025

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics measure changes in the output of the economy. This is an Official Statistics in Development publication for Scotland.


Scotland’s onshore GDP is estimated to have contracted by 0.2% in May. This follows revised growth of 0.1% in April (revised up from contraction of 0.2%).

 

In the three months to May, GDP is estimated to have contracted by 0.4%, compared to the previous three month period. This is a decrease in growth rate in comparison to the Quarter 1 2025 (January to March) growth of 0.4%.
