Information requested
Amount of money allocated and to what projects that has been allocated as part of the C02 utilisation challenge fund since its announcement.
Response
The Scottish Government is supportive of Carbon Capture and Utilisation which has the potential to enable decarbonisation of energy intensive industry, support economic development and promote a just transition.
At the date of your request, no monies had been allocated to projects as there have been no successful applications. Scottish Government continues to support the CO2 Utilisation Challenge Fund, the purpose of which is to support the development and demonstration of technologies that can utilise carbon dioxide and transform it into products that have market and commercial value. The Fund remains open for Expressions of Interest on a rolling basis.
