My current research is focussed on incorporating environmental and ecological covariates into stock-recruitment relationships for Atlantic salmon. The inclusion of covariates in SR models can reduce system noise, improve understanding of fish population dynamics, and better inform and assess the efficacy of fisheries management actions such as stocking.
I collaborate with the University of Aberdeen, including working with PhD students and providing educational site visits to MSc and undergraduate students at the Girnock and Baddoch fish traps. I also collaborate with the local fisheries trust (River Dee Trust), and with University College London.
