Details of specialism
My research is concerned with all aspects of the fish capture process including; fishing gear design/construction; fleet effort and composition; selectivity of commercial fishing gears and discard reduction measures (Technical Conservation Measures).
I have been involved with fishing gear technology since starting at the Marine Laboratory Aberdeen in 1986. I publish my experimental work through International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) expert group reports as well as via peer reviewed publications and Scottish Government commissioned reports.
