Economic Inactivity estimates
The estimated economic inactivity rate for people aged 16 to 64 years in Scotland was 22.7% in January to March 2026. This is 0.7 percentage points up compared to a year ago and 0.5 percentage points up over the quarter.
The estimated UK economic inactivity rate was 20.9% in January to March 2026. This is 0.4 percentage points down compared to a year ago but 0.1 percentage points up over the quarter.
