The Panel discussed the following four work streams and identified actions going forward:

 

Vision and Ways of Working

Neil Taylor and Andrea Bradley

Actions:

  • CP 2018/01: Angela Felvus to draft a group narrative
  • CP 2018/02: Nicola Annan to set up share point site and send details to members
  • CP 2018/03: secretariat to send doodle poll to members for availability during August - October
  • CP 2018/04: secretariat to send comments from the panel on the work themes to named members noted below for sense checking

 

Phase 1: Literature Review

Ken Muir and John Fyffe

Actions:

  • CP 2018/05: Nicola Annan to send comments on the literature review to Moyra Boland
  • CP 2018/06: Moyra Boland to send literature review comments to Steve Cornteny, Senior Lecturer, Manchester

 

Phase 2: Call for Evidence from the profession and beyond

Jane Peckham and Fiona Dalziel

Action:

  • CP 2018/07: members to alert their organisations to the evidence gathering e.g. articles in magazines

 

Phase 3 - Stakeholder Engagement 

Kathy Cameron, Gillian Hamilton and Jane Rowe

Actions:

  • Engagement events to be held from August to October: online surveys, focus groups, existing stakeholder forums
  • CP 2018/08: Ken Muir to provide details of lapsed registered teachers
  • CP 2018/09: Gillian Hamilton to enquire about setting up a stall and possible seminars at the Scottish Learning Festival
  • CP 2018/10: Panel members to provide information about events taking place during August to October

Any other business

The Panel felt that they would benefit from a member from a cognate profession.  Members suggested various professions including police sector, nursing and social work.

  • CP 2018/11: Moyra Boland to take this forward

 

Panel to agree that the work remains confidential and that any documents are agreed before sharing.
