Independent Advocacy Social Care Fund: form and guidance
Guidance on how to apply for funding to provide collective, citizen or peer independent advocacy to support people accessing social care support. This fund is now closed to applications.
Overview
This fund is now closed to applications.
The Independent Advocacy Social Care Fund is open for new collective, peer or citizen independent advocacy projects. The projects must support people – or their unpaid carers – accessing, or needing to access, social care services. They must focus on making sure advocacy partners’ voices are heard within the local social care system.
The fund is open to eligible third sector organisations within the Scottish independent advocacy sector. The closing date for applications is 8am on 22 September 2025.
Organisations can bid for a grant of up to £50,000 from an available total sum of £500,000. The project must start on or after 1 April 2026 and be completed by the end of March 2027. We will accept joint bids. Each organisation can only bid for one project, whether jointly or on their own.
To be successful for funding, projects must focus on supporting those who do not qualify for support through other statutory duties (see background section for more detail).
