'Hate Hurts' tackling hate crime marketing campaign 2024: evaluation report - September 2025
This report presents findings from an impact evaluation of the Scottish Government's national 'Hate Hurts' marketing campaign on tackling hate crime, which ran in March 2024.
7. Police Scotland data
Positive evaluation research results are supported by Police Scotland data from 1 April-12 May showing an increased number of hate crimes recorded compared with the previous year. While there will have been a number of factors influencing this, the campaign is likely to have played a role.
