The Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero and Energy, Gillian Martin MSP, as co-chair alongside Minister for Energy, Michael Shanks MP, opened and welcomed attendees including Rt Hon. Ian Murray MP, Secretary of State for Scotland to the meeting of the Grangemouth Future Industry Board (GFIB) Leadership Forum. 

The co-chairs and Rt Hon. Ian Murray reiterated their disappointment with the closure of Grangemouth refinery and acknowledged the collaborative work between GFIB members, the UK Government and Scottish Government to support the Grangemouth cluster and wider community. 

The Minister for Climate Action, Dr Alasdair Allan MSP, introduced the Grangemouth Just Transition Plan for GFIB sign off. Scottish Government officials presented updates made to the draft Just Transition Plan previously presented to GFIB. 

Jan Robertson, Director for Grangemouth Transition, Scottish Enterprise, provided an update on the Investment Taskforce. The Taskforce is leading on work to identify and attract entities with an interest in progressing the proposals outlined in Project Willow and any other viable opportunities across the industrial cluster. 

Scottish Government and UK Government officials presented an update on the skills intervention being provided to reskill affected refinery workers. 

The co-chairs thanked members for their attendance and contributions, reiterating the collaborative approach to support the future of the Grangemouth cluster and wider community.
