Global Solidarity Fund: equality impact assessment results
This report summarises the results of the Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) conducted to inform the design of the Global Solidarity Fund.
4. Findings
4.1 The evidence gathered and analysed for all the protected characteristics, including socio-economic status, was drawn from a variety of credible sources.
Outcome 1
Where there were gaps in data specifically relating to representation in leadership roles in the voluntary sector, the search was extended to draw on research on representation on boards and decision-making roles in the public and private sector. SIDA are currently undertaking further work in this area, and we intend to update this assessment once that information becomes available.
Outcome 2
The data was largely drawn from the quarterly polling by the Development Engagement Lab which is UK wide. This was supplemented with Scotland specific data collected by Scottish Fair Trade but with a narrower focus on 16-30 yr olds.
Outcome 3
Data availability was low in relation to representation of equality characteristics in the third, public or private sector in Partner Countries. As a result, we intend to update the assessment as further information becomes available through implementation of the Fund.
