Getting it right for everyone (GIRFE) toolkit

Community hub
Many of those who have shared their lived experience with us said that having and maintaining community connections were central to their wellbeing. These hubs, both in person and online, let people meet others, get information, and join activities.
To create good hubs, remember:
- Make them accessible and used. Buildings could be aquired through Community Asset Transfer (more info here: Asset transfer: summary guide)
- Let the community lead. Decisions should involve locals, charities, and experts. Plans should meet community needs.
- Ensure they are financially stable. They need different income sources, like grants, donations or hiring out space, to cover costs.
- Make them welcoming with helpful staff. Someone should be in charge of activities and giving information.
